A few years ago I bought a 1/2 acre lot in a small development in Santa Maria as an investment. I liked the location, only a five minute walk down a shady road to a quiet beach and near several good surf spots. Water and power are already installed and there is easy road access. It was also one of the most affordable options around. There are still a few lots available and the developer has asked me to help him fill the community with good people. Since I have a vested interest in assuring the quality of my neighbors I’m more than happy to help.
This year I’m planning to build a fence and plant some trees so that when I’m ready to build I’ll already have some nice trees for shade.
There are two lots with buildings so far in the development. The first is a completed 2 bedroom home that was built for just $80k. It is surrounded by fruit trees and gardens. The other is a nearly-complete caretaker’s house with storage shed. The foundation for the main house is just beginning.
Of the 22 original lots, there are still 10 for sale. All of the remaining lots are about a 1/2 acre in size, with sea views from ground level which would only be improved with a second story. The land is terraced and flat for easy building. The lots are all fully titled with the Letter of No Objection.
Prices start at $25k with the best views on the upper row priced at $50k. Prices are negotiable and all offers will be considered.
